Guise Will Be Guise

Magnus: Honey, we have a guest.
Virginia: Oh, look. The vampire's here.
Wesley: Um, yes... hello.
Virginia: Well. Daddy knows how to send out for just about anything.

Wesley: Virginia, we're both stuck here, so it seems to me I might as well do what he wants me to do and ... do my best to protect you.
Virginia: You think you're the vampire for the job?
Wesley: Well I want to try. You going to fight me?
Virginia: Let's go shopping.

Virginia: Guards? Okay, what is this now, bedroom guards?! You go back and you tell my dad—
["Guard" 1 grabs Virginia]
Wesley: Stop it!
["Guard" 2 tries to curse him...]
"Guard" 2: Let your flesh be weakened...
Wesley: Right then... [grabs #2's arm and kicks him] I'll just have to... [punches #1 and flips #2 over his shoulder; the two run away]
Virginia: You were amazing!
Wesley: [laughing with surprise and relief] I was, a bit.

Virginia: If you think about it, he's saying that if I moved out, it would kill him. I'd be responsible.
Wesley: That's a huge burden to put on you.
Virginia: I just... I just want out.
[She leans her head on his shoulder. When they look at each other, she leans up and kisses him.]
Wesley: Virginia...
Virginia: I'm sorry... I know we can't...
[They continue to kiss until...]
Wesley: Why?
Virginia: Well, you're a pretty famous guy, Angel. I hear the guards talk sometimes. I know.
Wesley: Know?
Virginia: About the curse.
Wesley: Ah. The curse...

Wesley: [as Virginia continues to kiss him] You know, this whole curse thing has been widely misinterpreted.
Virginia: Really?
[She nibbles his ear]
Wesley: Oh, yes... It's less of a curse, more of a hex, actually... barely that... [more kissing] a recommendation...
Virginia: [breaking away] Are you sure you're telling the truth?
Wesley: Virginia, I want to be honest with you. I want to tell you everything. I'm not... [she doesn't wait to hear him, kissing him again and muffling his next words...] actually... Angel.

Wesley: Cordelia, I'm not going with you.
Cordelia: What? I'm rescuing you. Key ingredient: we leave!
Wesley: I understand, but I have to stay. I have a job to do.
Cordelia: What is wrong with you? You've got, like, delusions of Angel. You're not him. You can't do stuff on your own. [Bryce & his goons enter] Oh, hey, Mr. Bryce! I've seen your picture. And I remember you from the armed abduction.
Wesley: I had Miss Chase testing your defensive perimeter, and I must say... did you know your guards just let her in?
Magnus: Because I told them to. I wanted my daughter to hear someone call you by your real name.
Virginia: [entering] What's going on? What real name?
Magnus: I got a call from an anonymous friend with some information. This guy isn't Angel.
Wesley: I am so Angel! [gets dragged to the uncovered window] No, not the sun! For I am a vampire... Oh, oh, it burns... oh...
Virginia: You're not Angel.
Wesley: My name is Wesley Wyndam-Pryce.
Virginia: I talked to you... I trusted you... You lied to me. Come to think of it, you actually put my life in danger. I was walking around thinking I had vampire protection. Here's the funny part... I thought I finally had a friend.

Wesley: It has to be Paul Lennier. He thought that would keep Virginia unprotected. Then when his men couldn't take me out, he tipped off Bryce that I wan't Angel. He hoped Bryce would get me out of the way.
Angel: What's going on? Were you in Virginia?
Wesley: That's beside the point.

Wesley: Release her or die.

Yeska: The sacrifice... is impure!
Gunn: What's goin' on?
Virginia: Why did you come back?
Wesley: I said I'd protect you.
Magnus: She's impure? She-she's not a virgin? [he sees Wes and his eyes narrow] You...
Gunn: Whoooah. That's what 'impure' meant?
Cordelia: She slept with him?
Magnus: You were supposed to be Angel. This wouldn't have happened. That's why I hired him. He's a eunuch.
Cordelia: You slept with her?
Angel: Eunuch?
Wesley: Things happened... two young people... danger...
Virginia: What are you talking about?
Magnus: She was a virgin before you got here.
Virginia: I was not a virgin.
Magnus: What?
Wesley: Oh, thank goodness...
Gunn: I coulda told you she wasn't no virgin.
Angel: Not a eunuch.
Cordelia: One day as Angel. One day and he's getting some.

Cordelia: Look!
[She thrusts an article into Angel's hands, and he reads the caption]
Angel: "Virginia Bryce, squired by Mr. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, bodyguard and detective to the stars..." Heh, squired. Who says 'squired'?
Cordelia: Look at him all over her!
Angel: Cordelia, you're just jealous that he's getting some attention.
Cordelia: Damn skippy! He's gettin' famous off this. Reflected gory? That's my thing!
Angel: Get a little perspective. [She exits, and he continues reading] 'Bodyguard to the stars'. Yeah, right. There's no Wyndam-Pryce Agency...

The Shroud of Rahmon

Wesley: Your hair. It's new... it's great! When did this happen?
Cordelia: Ten days ago.
Wesley: Of course. I didn't want to embarrass you by...
Cordelia: Noticing? Nice suit.
Wesley: I was just on my way out to—
Cordelia: Yet another glamorous, celebrity-filled gala with Miss Virginia Bryce?
[She pretends to yawn but is obviously envious]

Redefinition

Virginia: He fired you?! He can't fire you. You're on a mission to protect the innocent - you can't fire someone on a mission. What did he say, exactly?
Wesley: "You're fired."
Virginia: Oh. Well, can you file a grievance with the union?
Wesley: Virginia, I'm not in a union. I'm a... I don't even know what the name of my job is... was.
Virginia: You're renowned specialist in, in supernatural aid and rescue.
Wesley: No, I'm just... renowned?
Virginia: Well, to me you are. You saved my life. Although you should be in a union. My father always used union conjurers.
Wesley: I didn't know that.
Virginia: Oh, the wizard community is very progressive.
Wesley: Your father tried to sacrifice you to the goddess Yeska.
Virginia: Yeah, one of the many reasons I'll never talk to him again. Although I'm healing, thanks to a lot of therapy... and a gigantic trust fund...

Happy Anniversary

Wesley: Sometimes you need to wallow. Just let the depression settle in silently...
[Virginia breezes in bearing gifts]
Virginia: Hey! Wow, this place is great. I brought champagne. You guys must be so excited... in that really dry, suicidal way...
Wesley: Sorry, sweetheart. [He gets up and gives her a kiss] You just caught us in a moment of... well...
Cordelia: Reality.
Virginia: Oh, that. I avoid that.
Gunn: How do you avoid reality?
Virginia: Money. It cures everything but boredom and food cures boredom, so... [sets the gift basket on the desk] there ya go. Imported chips and packets of cheese.
Gunn: Thanks.
Wesley: We'll enjoy them huddled 'round our pathetic candles.
Cordelia: We'll make pathetic nachos.

Reprise

Virginia: I guess... before all this happened... I never really considered just how dangerous your work was.
Wesley: Well, of course what I do is dangerous. You forgetting how we met? You were strapped to a sacrifical altar while the goddess Yeska was called forth from the nether regions to consume you.
Virginia: Well, I grew up with that sort of stuff. Creepy crawlies and scary monsters I can handle. But guns? Kinda makes it all a little too real, you know?
Wesley: The gun was fired by a zombie, if that makes you feel any better?
Virginia: You know, strangely? It doesn't.
[She leans against his chest, and he strokes her hair]
Virginia: Does it always feel like it's a battle worth fighting?
Wesley: Some less than others.
Virginia: Collectively, I mean. Most people, they don't even acknowledge the evil, let alone try and fight it. And they don't have to wrap themselves in bandages to keep their insides from falling out.
Wesley: That's true.
Virginia: I don't suppose you'd ever consider... maybe giving it up... for something else?
Wesley: Could you be with someone who would?
Virginia: I don't know. But sometimes I feel like I should be wrapped in bandages... to keep my insides from falling out...
Wesley: This is difficult for you, isn't it?
Virginia: I just don't like to see you hurt.
Wesley: No, I... I mean, breaking up with me.
