Amma: Loo's mother. She and her husband, Jove, own and run the local tavern.
Boluz: One of Urkonn's "masters", this demon is best described as a maggot-ridden lake of flesh. Very lovely. He and Vrill sent Urkonn to intercept and train Melaka for their own purposes before the Council could take charge of her.
Broder: Erin's Fray's partner on the force. Kinda gruff, kinda dense.
Edo: An empolyee of Gunther's, Edo is a cross between bodyguard and administrative assistant.
Erin Fray: Melaka's older sister. She's a police officer and rides Mel pretty hard about her lifestyle choices. Pretty big on tough-love. She blames Mel for their brother's death, an event that drove a nearly-insurmountable wedge between them, but she is nevertheless willing to listen when her sister lays some pretty big news on her.
Gunther: Melaka's boss. Mutated fish-guy. He pays Mel to "procure" specific items for him. He gets impatient with her sass and timing, but she's his best thief. Lately, though, he's been extra generous. Seems to have a genuine affection for Melaka, but his loyalty only goes so far.
Harth Fray: Melaka's twin brother, he was bitten and killed by Icarus. Highlight to view spoiler: As the Slayer's twin, he "intercepted" her dreams and knew to bite Icarus while dying in order to live on as a vampire. And thanks in part to his special understanding of vampires, he has risen to become The One Who Will Lead, a big-time badass with some serious plans.
Icarus: Local badass vampire who killed Mel's brother, Harth. Used to be the top vampire in Versi, now second to and serves The One Who Will Lead.
Jove: Loo's father. He and his wife, Amma, own and run the local tavern.
Kettie Rawls: A 42-year-old thug with a hydraulic arm who drinks at Loo's parents' tavern. He threatened to rip off Loo's arm, prompting Melaka to teach him a lesson about how not to talk to her friend.
Lacey: Another bruiser with a hydraulic arm, she got involved in the tav melee and punched Melaka through the wall when the Slayer accidentally spilled Lacey's beer.
Loo: A young neighbourhood girl who idolizes Mel. Mel, in return, treats Loo like a kid sister and is very protective of her. Loo has some health problems: presumably due to radiation, she's missing half of her left arm and appears to be blind in her right eye. She is also accutely hyperactive and in need of regular medication, which Melaka has been known to steal for her.
Melaka Fray: Star of the show, she is the first Slayer to be Called in 200 years. A thief by trade, Mel's natural reflexes and talents have come in handy, making her an excellent cat burgular. Now, however, she has to overcome public distrust and a very painful past in order to stand up to The One Who Will Lead.
Ruebrin: A rival of Gunther's, Ruebrin sent two of his boys to try and swipe one of Mel's grabs from her before she could get it to Gunther. They failed, despite throwing Melaka off a building.
Urkonn of the D'Avvrus: A big goat-monster of a demon, Urkonn seeks out Melaka to act as her Watcher of sorts (handy, since her would-be Watcher kind of burned himself alive) and prepare her to face The One Who Will Lead.
Vrill: Urkonn's other "master", Vrill is a creepy spider-demon. He and Boluz sent Urkonn to intercept and train Melaka for their own purposes before the Council could take charge of her.
